Senator Webb’s Stand in Immigration

by robert.jeffery on November 10, 2009

Below, Directly copied from his New “Webb” site is Senator Webb’s Stand on immigration:

“The United States is a nation of immigrants. With 37.9 million foreign-born individuals nationwide and 856,000 in Virginia alone, immigrants are important to the fabric of our country and offer contributions in many sectors of society. It is important that the United States safeguards our borders and protects the American workforce, while at the same time, implements fair and realistic immigration policies that allow a workable path to legalization for those who have put down roots in this country. We must vigorously enforce immigration laws that are on the books, including tough civil and criminal penalties for companies that knowingly hire undocumented or illegal workers. And we must gain control over our porous borders by properly utilizing the assets and legal means already at our disposal.”

While I agree with much of what is written here, the phrase that causes me to take notice is. “…while at the same time, implements fair and realistic immigration policies that allow a workable path to legalization for those who have put down roots in this country.” “…for those who have put down roots in this country.”? Could he be talking about illegal aliens who have been sent across our border to slave for some Central or South American Country?

The shame, here is not that he turns a blind eye to the “undocumented” worker, or even displays indignation toward those who would employ such a worker, or even suggests amnesty for our brothers to the south who want only to make a living, educate their children and get health care for their families which they wouldn’t be able to do in their homeland. Senator Webb’s shame is that he is attacking the symptom and not the cause. The cause is that the lands to the south of us want us (US) to take their poor and educate, employ and care for them because these poor are the greatest source of income that most of these countries have.

Senator Webb is blind to this and therefore needs to be replaced.

Your in Liberty
